Project Objective:

The goal of the project is to draw attention to the issue of the destruction of architectural heritage and to popularize the sites for the development of local tourism. With the help of AR technologies and audio guides, Ukrainians and foreigners can learn more about the architecture of Ivano-Frankivsk.

Key stages of the project:

  • Digitization of architectural monuments: The team conducted 3D scanning of eight key architectural objects in Ivano-Frankivsk.
  • Creation of AR postcards: A set of eight postcards depicting the architectural monuments was developed. When a postcard is scanned using a mobile phone, the image "comes to life" in 3D.
  • Creation of informational support: An audio guide was created for each object, providing additional information about the monument.

Within the framework of the project, eight architectural objects important to the city were digitized:

  • "Tempel" Synagogue
  • Cathedral of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin
  • Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  • National Medical University
  • Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ
  • City Hall
  • Bastion. Stanislaviv Fortress
  • Complex of the former Potocki Palace

All digitized objects are available for viewing in augmented reality (AR), allowing for interactive exploration of the architectural heritage.
