Digitization of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress using laser scanning and photogrammetry, with the aim of preserving data for educational and popularization projects.

Project Objective:

To create a high-precision digital copy of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress for its preservation, popularization, and use for educational purposes, as well as for possible restoration in case of damage.

Key stages of the project:

  • Perform laser scanning and photogrammetry of the fortress from the ground and a drone.
  • Conduct approximately 1,000 scanning stations using the RIEGL VZ-400i.
  • Take 3,000 photographs to create textures.
  • Conduct four months of data processing in the office.
  • Create a high-precision 3D model with an error margin of up to 2–3 cm.
  • Provide the digital model for use by the Kamianets-Podilskyi State Historical Museum-Reserve.
