Project objective:

To reimagine and make the cultural heritage of the Hutsul highland industrial and culinary crafts accessible to a new generation of visitors through digital and sensory experiences. To upgrade the museum’s technological infrastructure, ensuring the stable operation of AR exhibits and interactive touchscreens. To popularize the traditions of bryndza cheesemaking, support local ethno-tourism in the Carpathian region, and demonstrate a successful model of digital transformation for regional history museums.

Key project elements:

  • Updated Augmented Reality (AR) exhibits — full technological migration of visual and audio effects to the modern Lens Studio platform for a seamless and stable immersion into the culture.
  • Interactive 3D quest on touchscreens — a specialized software package built on 3DVista (for Windows and web versions) featuring a full immersion effect.
  • Spherical panoramas of real locations — a virtual journey to an authentic shepherd’s hut (staya) and Carpathian alpine pastures with flocks of sheep.
  • Digital collection of 3D artifacts — interactive 3D models of specific Hutsul tools and household items with a 360-degree viewing capability for detailed examination.
  • Multimedia content — professional audio commentary (voiceover) and information pop-ups that deeply reveal the essence of Hutsul traditions.

Project implementation:

The Skeiron team completed a full technical reconfiguration of the museum's digital content. Due to changes in global technological platforms, the museum's AR filters were promptly rescued and migrated to new web platforms, ensuring their longevity. Additionally, a unique gamified object search mechanic (quest) was built from scratch, featuring custom code, a targeting system, and progress counters.
