Skoropadsky Manor
About object
The manor belonged to the first honorary citizen of the city of Pryluky, a representative of a prominent Cossack officer family. It was located on the corner of Romenska (now Kyivska) and Kladbyshchenska (now Himnazychna) streets. The manor house was quite elegant and asymmetrical. On September 22, 1874, a boys' gymnasium was opened on the estate. Having become an educational hub, the building preserved its purpose: in 1920, it housed the Unified Labor School, and later, a pedagogical college. During the Second World War, the house partially burned down. In the post-war years, it was restored and significantly rebuilt. At one time, M. I. Mikhnovsky, the creator of the Ukrainian national idea, and A. M. Livytskyi, the President of Ukraine in exile, studied at the Pryluky Boys' Gymnasium. Today, an educational institution of the city operates in the Skoropadsky manor. The estate holds the status of a historical monument.
