Meretyn and Pinsel
18th-century Galician Rococo monuments created by architect Bernard Meretyn and sculptor Johann Georg Pinsel. Meretyn designed the churches, and Pinsel adorned them with altars and sculpture; together they produced the most expressive late Baroque ensembles in Ukraine, including St George's Cathedral in Lviv, the churches in Hodovytsia and Horodenka, and the Buchach Town Hall with its tall Baroque tower and sculptures of the labours of Hercules. Many of Pinsel's sculptures are now kept in the Pinsel Museum in Lviv.
